1. The blank of the large shaft forging
According to the use requirements, production type, equipment conditions and structure, the shaft parts can be selected as blanks, forgings and others. A shaft with a small difference in outer diameter usually uses a ball bat. For stair shafts and important shafts with larger outer diameters, forging is often used. This not only saves material and reduces processing effort, but also improves mechanical properties. According to the production scale, there are two types of blank forging methods: free forging and die. Free forging is mostly used in small and medium batch production, and molds are used in mass production.
Generally speaking, 45 # steel is usually used for large shaft forgings, and different heat treatment specifications (such as standardization, adjustment, ignition, etc.) are used according to working conditions to obtain strength, toughness and wear resistance. For medium-precision and high-speed shaft large forgings, alloy steels such as 40Cr can be used. After conditioning and case hardening, this steel has high overall mechanical properties. High-precision shaft furnace, after adjustment and surface quenching treatment, higher wear resistance and fatigue resistance.
The temperature range of large shaft forgings of metal materials is the various temperature regions between the initial forging temperature and the final forging temperature. The metal material should have high plastic deformation and small deformation prevention ability within the forging temperature range, so that the finished mechanical shaft large forging can achieve the expected mechanism and function. Under this premise, the temperature range of large shaft forgings should be as wide as possible in order to reduce the number of ignitions of the forgings, reduce consumption, improve productivity, and promote actual operation.

The quality control of important forgings has a series of marking research methods that can be found in the process of production development and use management. The marking of raw materials requires great attention from the very beginning. The content of correction includes material grade, furnace batch number, date of collection and distribution, supply factory code, etc. This helps to distinguish variations in materials due to factors in the manufacturing process itself, and markings on raw materials can provide a reliable basis for evaluating the quality of products supplied to factories.
